Meet your clinician
Rella Gevertzman, MA, CCC-SLP
I am a bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist (CCC-SLP) with years of experience helping adults in acute care, inpatient rehab, and outpatient settings. I specialize in treating adults with neurologic disorders, focusing on swallowing issues (dysphagia) and neurogenic language disorders (aphasia). I earned my BA in Psychology from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, and my MA in Speech-Language Pathology from Montclair State University, which provided a strong foundation for my clinical expertise.
Areas of Expertise:
Stroke recovery
Traumatic brain injury
Parkinson’s disease
Multiple sclerosis
Dementia and other neurocognitive disorders
Head and neck cancers
My goal is to help improve both safety and quality of life for patients and their caregivers through a holistic, patient-centered approach.
I have advanced training in diagnosing and treating swallowing disorders, including Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) and Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBSS) through the MBSImP certification. I’m also certified in LSVT LOUD for voice disorders, particularly those related to Parkinson’s and other neurologic conditions. Additionally, I have specialized training in alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) for individuals with aphasia.
Though my primary experience is with adults, I developed a passion for pediatric feeding therapy after my son, a NICU graduate, needed therapy. Since then, I’ve completed advanced training in pediatric feeding including the Feed The Peds® program and have shadowed SLP, OT, and PT professionals in the NICU. I’m dedicated to supporting families through feeding challenges with a compassionate, personalized approach.
